Operational Workflow

The RoboSwap System follows a well-defined sequence for battery management.

Battery Swap Sequence:

  • The robot retrieves a depleted battery from a vehicle cradle and places it in a rack slot close to the battery that should be next loaded into the vehicle.

  • A fully charged battery is retrieved and installed in the vehicle cradle.

  • The system operates mostly on a few FIFO queues, however there are some decisions made for retaining batteries in the rack for various reasons.

Error Handling:

  • Misalignments or obstructions are detected by sensors, prompting corrective actions.

Special Modes:

  • Service Mode: Allows manual intervention and maintenance tasks. In some cases, the robot's "Teach Pendant" or "Service Login" screens may need to be used to reset running programs on the internal computer.

  • Calibration Mode: Ensures accurate positioning of racks, tools, and safety systems.
