Communication and Power Distribution
The system’s power and communication infrastructure enables efficient operation and data flow.
Power Distribution:
-
Input power is installed to each rack as a single drop per rack from the building infrastructure.
-
• Each input uses a 250A service input for a max usable current of around 200A. • Transformers and converters regulate voltages for subsystems. • Main power for everything other than chargers uses 24Vdc. • Racks and charger sleeves utilize PoE+ from a commercial-grade network switch.
-
3.5.2 Communication: • Industrial ethernet protocols manage subsystem interactions. • Redundant systems ensure continuous operation in case of faults. • Individual racks, sleeves, and batteries can each fail while the rest of the system continues to operate.
-
• All expansion racks connect to the main rack via 24V power cabling and a simple ethernet connection.
-
• Robot sensor communication is aggregated into a single 24V and Ethernet connection. Robot motion is controlled via multiple dedicated cables connecting directly to the robot controller.
